500ml bottle - Black body with next to no head. Nice woody aroma, but a bit thin in the body, with some dustiness, toast and liquorice in the taste. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but the body lets it down.

Very dark in appearance with patchwork-like head. Dark, sweet malt to the nose. Coffee-chocolate taste offset by a welcoming bitter ending. Silky in the mouth. Good stuff (Hand-puled cask at GBBF, 07.08.2008).

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with freshly ground coffee, ashes and cocoa. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, cocoa and a dry finish with a nice coffee bitterness. Slightly thin body, but brilliant balance. Very nice stout.

Cask at GBBF 08. Black, thin tan head. Roasty aroma, coffee and choc. Fine, good dark roasted flavours, very dark and roasted in fact. Fine, bit of ashtray, but a decent reasonably intense stout.
