Forget the ABV, which is just a by-product of the passion. It was James & Josh from the Queen’s Arms, Corton Denham, and Justin Hawke, founder and head brewer here at Moor (hence the JJJ) whose shared enthusiasm for great beers and 9 years ago now were lamenting the lack of true IPAs in the UK. So they decided to brew their own version of heaven. Double IPA was just not enough - it needed to be a triple IPA. Triple the gravity, triple the colour, and more than triple the hops. With over a tonne of malt and 65kgs of hops this beer is big in every sense. In fact, it was so big and hoppy the first time round that it broke our pump! This beer is a real blend of British and American brewing styles. Unlike many Imperial IPA’s being brewed today this is made with 100% malt, adding a depth of flavour beyond the hop character. Deep copper in colour, over the top in aroma and flavour, but somehow still remaining (somewhat) balanced, this beer is not for the faint of heart.

Can bought at Borefts, now enjoyed at home. Pours a hazy amber with little head. Aroma is intense pine and resin, some grapefruit, somewhat herbal. Lovely, old school west coast IIPA. Big body. Flavour is back by a big malt body with generous amounts of caramel malt. Sweet and with a bit of toffee. High bitterness and very hoppy. Lots of pine and resin but also a nice amount of juicy grapefruit. Not too resiny, malt holds up well. This triple IPA screams old school, but with a juicy twist. Love it.

Pretty cloudy orange to beige beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: malty start, lots of dank and cheesy hops, fruity, some bubble gum. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet caramel, bit fruity, sugary malts, very nice. Aftertaste: bitter hops, bit resinous, some grapefruit, good bitterness!
