Cask at Archibald Simpsons. It pours clear deep brown with a handsome brown head. The aroma is charred pine, brown bread, fruit cake, sappy, resin, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste is pleasantly bitter, bitter - sweet character throughout, toasted nut, charred oak, pine needles, varnished wood, cacao nibs and coffee beans with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Rather nice. A shocker when you see this was brewed at banks. Surprised by the mixed reviews tbh.

Dark brown with a small bubbly tan head. Light bodied, some brown sugar on the nose, it’s bitter with treacle and hazelnut, light roasted malt and even a touch of coffee before a dry bitter finish

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear chestnut brown coloured pour with a creamy magnolia head. Aroma is semi sweet, subdued, chocolate malts, twigs, dried fruits, apple. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, jammy dried fruit, fig roll, raisin, bitter burnt cake, vanilla. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, creamy, moderate carbonation. Meh.
