Cask at Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head and good lacing. The aroma has malts, caramel and chocolate. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy but with a little underlying tartness. Flavour has dark fruits, chocolate and cherries with hints of marmalade and spices coming through later. A little bitterness in the finish. This is rather nice.
