Cask at JDW Charlie Hall; hazy chestnut pour with beige head, caramel aroma, taste has dark fruit along with caramel and some roasted malts

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 22 January 2014. Poured a very dark, clear ruby with a thin, dense, off-white head and excellent lacing. Light aroma; some coffee and dark malt. Initial flavours of liquorice, burnt malt and fruit cake. Finish was rye bread, treacle and coffee grouts.

Cask at moon under water jdw. Dark brown copper coloured pour with a thon off white head. Aroma is roasted coffee and apples with some dried fruits and alcohol. Flavour is medium sweet roast barley and berry fruit esters and apple. Lingering rough roasted bitterness. Medium body.

Cask at the Old Manor, Bracknell. Deep chestnut with a reddish tint and a loose cream head; malty aroma; malty taste with some caramel and brown sugar; then an earthy bitterness to finish.

Cask at White Lady, JDW. pours clear amber, off-white head. Aromas of butterscotch, light fruit, caramel. Taste has more butterscotch and light bitterness. Not great.

Cask@The Pembury Tavern, London. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, some candy notes, mild buttery and malty notes. Flavour is caramel malts, some fruity, nectary and wooden notes. Mild spices as well. But the sad thing is the dominating buttery notes.

Cask at Pembury Tavern, Hackney, London. Lightly hazy pale nut brown. Butter from nose to finish. Sweet and oily with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Completetly dominated by butter. Eh.

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Haze, red, bit of orange colour. Fresh on. Decent condition. OK red berry fruit, some yeast. OK fruity strong bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 4/4/08. Dark amber with a tight, off-white head. Big, malty aroma with some red fruit. Flavour was slightly sweet with a full mouth feel and bitter, slightly salty finish. Ok.

Cask (handpump) @ Anchor, Digbeth, Birmingham B5, UK. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruit / berry ala craneberry or juniper berry. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily creamy, carbonation is flat. (140108)
