With this beer, you will experience a tasty and atmospheric Christmas brew brewed according to a 200 year old tradition. Mumme is beer type originally brewed in Braunschweig, but became popular in all of Northern Europe in the 1700s. The dark ale tastes and smells of all the spices and sweetness that we associate with Christmas.

Bottle thanks to onkelgobber. Appearance - dark honey with a thin lacy head. Nose - honey and cloves. Taste - honey, cherries and cloves. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a dry refreshing finish. Overall - it grew on me a little.

750 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Clear amber body with a medium sized off-white head. Mild aroma of caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is mild, sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit and moderate bitterness. Medium body and aftertaste. Quite average in flavors and nothing extraordinary in any way, still pretty well balanced and will probably go well together with a lot of different food.

Bottle. Pours clear tea/amber with negligible off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, dried fruit and hops. Richly carbonated. The flavour is sweetish (malt, caramel and fruit) but is is somehow spoilt by the rather watery mouthfeel and a bitter and metallic finish. Perhaps the beer needs re-rating.

75cl corked bottle. clear orange, smooth offwhite head. quite light for a supposedly well stuffed christmas beer.aroma dominated by corn and alc, some sweet spices, but aroma does have a clear macro strong brew feeling about itself. flavor is quite complex, consisting of metal, spices, corn, alc, faint licorice. brutally dissapointing cosidering what was written on the label.
