Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 8/29/12

Aroma: The nose has resiny hops, citrus/orange/grapefruit, some caramel, and floral notes
Appearance: Pours a reddish-burnt orange color with a beige head and sheeting/spotty lace
Flavor: Tastes fairly balanced between the light-medium sweetness and the medium-plus hop bitterness
Palate: The body is meidum-plus, it is slightly sticky, with a smooth feel, and a lingering, fairly dry finish
Overall Impression: 800th Rater of this one, good times! Also, you can chalk this one up as a definitely had, definitely forgot to rate beer. As for the beer itself, and this bottle in particular, I enjoyed it. This is a very well-made and quite sessionable IPA. Quite good.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy amber gold color. Lots of bubbles lead to a rocky beige head. Fragrant floral hop aroma with sweet caramel malt undertones. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor with a citrus hop component. Smooth mouthfeel makes this IPA a pleasant flavorful quaff. Nice balance. Finishes with a tart bitter lingering hopiness.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly and laces well. Aroma of grapefruit and pine, wonderful actually. Flavor is more down to earth, somewhat sweet malt, grapefruit, grass. Bitter finish.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 22 May 2012) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, tea, citrus and orange peel. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, grapefruit, orange peel and a fresh citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty. Nice one.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled 12/8/2011. Pours hazy orange amber color with a fairly dense 1-2 finger off white head with good retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice lacing down the glass as you drink; with a fair amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of big pine, grapefruit, orange, herbal spiciness, caramel, floral, and light biscuit. Some decent aromas, but they are on the mild side for an IPA. Taste of big pine, grapfruit, floral, caramel, biscuit, and herbal spiciness. Fair amount of bitterness on the finish with lingering notes of citrus, biscuit, floral, and herbal on the finish for a while. Some decent flavor balance, but it is a bit too bready and grassy for my liking. A touch over the top on bitterness vs malt balance. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and pretty crisp mouthfeel. Smooth to drink, with no alcohol noticed other than a slight warming after the finish. Overall this is a decent IPA. Perhaps it is better fresher than it was, even though this bottle was only 3 months old.

Pours a darker golden yellow with mid-sized, frothy head. Strong, floral hop aroma. Flavor of strong, bitter, hops, with a sort of rusty, coppery finish to it. I’ve certainly had worse (but I’ve also had better).

On tap as part of a sampler at the New Holland Brewery in Holland, MI. Appearance somewhat clear amber with thin white head that laces to the glass. Aroma mostly hops, nice hop profile with equal parts floral and citrus. Taste bitter, more so than many other IPAs I’ve had, I’m not a huge fan of the finish this one, the mixture of the bready malts and hops give it kind of a dirty aftertaste. Its pretty good and I know its widely available in my area, but there definitely are better IPAs out there.
