A lightly smoked Hefeweizen brewed by an all-female team at The Old Flax Store to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day and its theme – #AccelerateAction.

When it comes to flavour, think freshly baked banana bread with some liquid smoke to round out the edges

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Smoke is subtle, but it's there. Faint banana and bread dough. Taste is light spice, light sweet, light smoke. Very drinkable.

440ml can, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Pours a chalk white head over a next-to-clear (!) yellow-gold head, spotty lacing. Moderate aromas of fruity wheat, distant scents of smoke. The taste profile has got lightly smoked fruity wheat, joined by ripe citrus fruits and a spicy note. Prolonged ending. Something else, and quite alright. (Tromsø, 29.05.2025).

I enjoy a most any style of smoked beer and b TV Janis no exception. Mellow wheat/yeast expression, but a little, some dry smoke, lemon peel, nips of banana chips. Tasty and rather drinkable.

Can. Bier Huis Ossett. Birthday gift from the missus. Hazy gold. Thin lasting white foam. Nose has soft sweet smoke. Plenty of Hefe yeasty character. Taste is a little sweet with some dryness. Pretty thin overall with a short finish. Smells ok but after that it’s lacking any oomph.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of smoked cheese and straw. Flavour of grain and a subtle hint of smoke. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. This beer has an interesting style but I didn’t like it enough to buy it again.

International Women's Day Brew drank on the same day. Nice hoppy nice textured brew, which is clear even without the smokiness, the actual smokiness here merely enhanced proceedings!
