Dark bière de garde with beige, equal, high head and very dark mahogany colour, filtered and clear. Aroma of walnuts, liquorice, coffee liqueur, cassis, nutmeg, raisins, chocolate, straw; taste a well-rounded fruitiness, subdued sweetness, malty, smooth with a bit oily mouthfeel, drying carbonation, finishing with a roasted bitterishness and subtle peppery hop. More a Belgian Scotch than an actual bière de garde.

Taste of roast malt, a bit of alcohol. Nothing else. No real aftertaste or anything. I actually find it a bit better than the Chti blonde, though.

(bottle, 75cl) Clear, dark brown colour with a tanned and small foamy head. Slightly earthy and nutty toast-malty aroma with a vinous fruity touch. Sweet-bitter flavour with a tinge of sourness, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Toasty malt-character with earthy, leafy and nutty notes, accompanied by a berry fruity touch; mildly sweet and moderately toasted malty finish with notes of dried fruits in the aftertaste. 21.II.11

75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet and brewmashy with a nice set of fruity and roasted notes. Flavour has the same with a sweet caramel malt, roasted notes and somewhat fruity accents. Light nutty and caramelish dark finish.
