Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7
8 ounce at the brewery - black pour - looks still - treacle, plum and other dark fruits, fruitcake in the nose - oily texture - quite sweet, leaning more towards treacly English barleywine in character - a bit of sherry/oxidation - moderate oak and whiskey - still has some underlying bright sticky fruitiness indicative of a more American barleywine as the base, maybe - fruity, sticky finish - a bit cloying, but some good stuff happening.
