Keg at CBJ. Darkest brown. Thin tan head. Aroma has full-on chewy malts and a bitter edge. Flavourwise it has some sourness over a big sweet core. Slightly peripheral bitterness. Medium bodied. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Yummer.

Sweet and chewy but not cloying, strong ashy bitterness, charred brown sugar, toffee, dates, raisins, coffee. Nice depth. Solid offering.

Tap at the craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. A thicc opaque black brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is lovely big dark chocolate, praline hazelnut, with warming boozy bourbon, vanilla, oak. Maybe a little vinous completely on the nose. Flavour is composed of intense dark chocolate, bourbon, dark berries, vanilla sweetness, marshmallow,. Nice balance between the bitter roast dark chocolate and sweetness. Palate is lush and rounded, thicc, fine carbonation. Some jammy fruits lingering.

Taste comprises chocolate pot, toffee fudge, toasted brown sugars, bourbon rip, light vanilla essence, mellow roast.
Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close tickled with a balanced rising boost.
Solid BA impy.

8 ounce at the brewery - black pour - nose of whiskey, chocolate, treacle, tamarind, coffee - thick mouthfeel - sweet, but with a tempering savory/umami character underneath - tamarind, bourbon, anise, chocolate - warming, but alcohol is well-masked - it’s tasty.
