Bottled (Thanks Timo Alanen!). Dark brown colour, small beigeish head. Aroma is licorice, dark malts, some mild fruityness as well as some mild roasted notes. Flavour is quite much the same with grass and some sweetish sour notes added. More like a dark lager when cold. Once it warms up it gets the sweetish sour notes.

Bottled. A brown beer with a red shine under a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of roasted malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of roasted malt, but also with a light note of vegetables (brewing flaw?), leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. Thanks Maria for the trade.

Bottle. Acted as a volcano when I uncorked it, and it refused to stop until half of the content was out of the bottle. Dark, dark brown body with floaties, and a beige to tan head, quite small. Coffee dominates the nose, but there’s also a light buttery note and some toffee. Coffee, sweetness, a little touch of hoppy bitterness, and a little hint of metal in the flavor. Toffee-ish, coffee bitter finish with some hops and a little buttery note. The hops last quite long, and gets better at the very end. Medium body. Upon finishing the beer, I also noticed a licorice note in the aroma. Quite nice, but I don’t think I will repeat it. (071203)

Bottle. [ Thanks to Enjoyit ] Unclear light to medium brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, grass, orange, notes of coffee and licorice. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (271007)

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Hazy, orangey brown with a beige head. Fresh, citrusy nose. Medium-bodied, sweetish, fruity, roasted malt with a lightly burned edge and some vitamin-like notes. The finish is dry. Has absolutely nothing to do with a Stout. 150807

50 cL bottle, thanks to Maria for making all current Ugelris beers available to us. Pours hazy brown with a lacing white head. Slight caramel sweet aroma, roasted and chocolate. Nice bitter and grape hoppy blending in with a roasted malt and chocolate and liqourice. Dry finish and quite hoppy, very nice.

Hazy brown color. An American Brown Ale, that is: based on caramel (but with a dry mouthfeel) and with good and aromatic hops, citrusy and spicy (hops). Good.
