Draught at Row 34, 10/5/16.
A moderately hazy, brassy-golden with light copper tints and a small white head showing moderate to moderately low retention.
Quite "sweaty" in the nose, with some definite cat-like notes that don’t go particularly well with the dry, lemon-lime and light grapefruit rind that the hops provide otherwise. Some malts in the background do support the dryness somewhat, as light honey and biscuit softens things. Still, it’s just a little too poignant/sharp on the citrus character, despite not being resinous. And whatever this sweaty-cat sort of thing going on is, it’s not helping at all. No alcohol noted.
In the mouth it improves somewhat, though there’s a touch of dirtiness/dustiness. While it’s light, it dampens the bright citrus that is comprised of all sorts of lemon notes; peel, skin, oil, etc...with peach and orange character as well. The malts are fairly soft, with varying degrees of light graininess that add a pleasing texture. Carbonation is light, but engaging, beer is well-attenuated. But then there’s that grassy, dusty, sweaty, lightly catty character lingering....
