Based on a 200-year-old recipe for Porter, a brew whose popularity changed English beer-making methods in the mid-1750s. A dark full-flavoured beer but smoother and less bitter than stout. Made with softened water, Propeller London Porter is a blend of pale, roasted and chocolate malts, hopped with English and North American varieties.

Has a very nice foam on top of a dark black body. Aroma of sharp roasted barley and I can tell already it is a little watery. Flavour is sharp and sour barley, nice in fact, good balance there but just barely. And yes, it needs more fullness on the mouth. Serviceable again but no home run to be found.

Bottle from the brewery Pours a solid dark brown with ruby highlights and a smallish off white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aromas of roasted grain, toffee, caramel and hints of earthy. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Decent porter, I prefer them a bit more robust, but this one is tasty.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with full whitish head. Aromas of burnt malts, hay, and light coffee. Flavors of heavily roasted malts, bitter unsweetened chocolate, and ash. Very dry. Just the way I expect a Porter is supposed to be - no confusion with a stout on this one.

650mL bottle, pours dark brown / black with a medium lingering beige head. Aroma of light cocoa, light roasted notes and a hint of coffee. Flavour is similarly mild, with the cocoa and roasted notes upfront. Light-bodied, with not much going on. Pretty standard porter.
