A clear dark golden beer with a white head. Aroma of strong biscuit malt, pale malt, some honey. Taste of strong pale malt, hints of honey, biscuit, mild spicy bitterness.

Bottle picked up from Hier Gibt's Bier webshop Eckersdorf Franconia Bayern and consumed at home Sunday 6th March 2022 listening to Warmduscher - This Tainted Lunch and cooking a Lamb Tagine and also Pastitsio. Pours copper colour with a white head, good clarity. Quite sweet from the off, super soft carbonation, it's okay but no world beater, a tad sweet and one dimensional.

Clear blond colour, white foam. Sweet, notes of honey, a bit dusty, some metallic notes. Not the best Heller Bock.

Becher Bräu Bock, vom Faß beim Becher-Bräu in Bayreuth. - Rotgoldener Bernstein, klar, sahniger Schaum. - In der Nase feiner Karamel und ein Hauch von Honig. - Im Antrunk Sahnebonbon, Karamel und mildes Toastmalz, aus dem sich allmählich eine herbe Kräuterbittere mit etwas Zitronenschale herausschält. Schöne, leicht toastige Malzsüße mit Honig, nicht zu süß. Bocktypisch dichter, karamelmalziger Körper. Ab und zu weht scharfer Alkohol (Kräuterlikör) fast schnapsartig herein. Etwas grün krautiger, hopfenherber Abgang. - Ein toastmalziger Bock ist an und für sich eine feine Sache, aber dieser ist etwas unrund und leidet unter leicht schnapsigen Zügen. Dennoch recht lecker. Bottle @ Bayreuth. Pours Golden with a white head. Straw, marzipan, bread, fruit, caramel and a whiff of alcohol. Sweet, strong and sippable. A bit of dust.

Schöne, orange-braune Farbe, süßlich-malziger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist mild und süßlich mit einer leichten, bockbiertypischen Schärfe, die sich aber sehr im Hintergrund hält. Der Hauptteil wird vollmundiger, die Schärfe tritt etwas mehr zu Tage – die 7,5% sind deutlich spürbar. Aber durch die Weichheit des Bieres wird die Schärfe gut kaschiert. Es treten leichte Aromen gelber, reifer Früchte hinzu, eine angenehme malzige Süße und dazu passende, schön abgewogene Herbe. Sehr schöne Aromentiefe und -vielfalt! Auf der Zunge bleibt eine süßlich-würzige Note, zusammenmit einer angenehmen Bitterkeit!
--> Leckerer heller Bock, nur die alkoholische Schärfe trübt das Gesamtbild ein wenig! Vielen Dank an wastl!

At the brewery tap, Bayreuth - 26/11/11. Reckon it was poured from a bottle but the server was miserable and unfriendly so didn’t bother asking! Clear amber brown with a decent head. Malts and caramel in both aroma and taste. Fuller end of medium body, good carbonation, alcohol is well disguised.

Bottle: Clear, deep amber coloured, quickly vanishing loose off-white head; moderate toasty-caramelly nose, a herbal-hoppy touch in the background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; increasing medical hoppiness in the sweet-bitter finish. Very decent Bock....

The bottle looks simple but good, the beer in the glass also. Nice head for a bockbbier. The beer starts malty, modest spicy, the alcohol is well hidden. Very drinkable and good bock!
