Propeller's version weighs in at a whopping eight percent alcohol content, with a deep, rich, black colour. The taste of alcohol is well masked by the intense hop bitterness, extreme roasted malt and dark fruit notes.

chocolate, coffee, roasty, sweet malts, touches of soy. Good bitterness, awesome dark roasted finish, with some gret espresso, and slightly sweet soy notes.

Flight pour at Quinpool taproom. Pours black with tan head. Aroma has rich roasted malts, though somewhat subtle. Flavour has solid roasted malt profile, some espresso, nice depth. Rich and malty. Very nice malt-forward imperial stout.

Nov 25, 2024 (7/4/8/3/16=3.8): Poured from 473mL can @ ABC beer share. Same rating notes, but raising the taste to an 8. Decent. July 04, 2022 (7/4/7/3/16=3.7): Poured from 473mL can. Very dark brown with small beige head. Roast malt, hint of smoke, feint leather, light cocoa. Slightly older in style, and lighter in body than would have liked, but pretty decent overall.

Bottle from the Liquor Store on PEI Pours a solid black color with a huge frothy tan head that persists forever. Vinous chocolate fudge and caramel maltiness dominate the aroma. Light earthy floral round out the nose. The flavor is rich thick chocolate caramel and roast with quite a vinous fruity edge to it. Light smoke and earth round us out nicely. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a rich creamy ashy mouthfeel. Wow thats a pretty nice stout right there! Reminds me a lot of Bell’s Expedition, I really enjoyed this.

(500mL bottle from the LC) Pours black with a tiny tan head, little lace. Nose has molasses, roast coffee, dark chocolate, fig, bit of anise lingering behind. Flavour sweet up front, chocolate malts with moderate toast, coffee with sugar, fades into black licorice, bit of wood and then dry green, almost menthol hops with roast at the finish, a little "fresh" at the end. Palate is thinner for the style, with carb that is soft but prickly, and the alcohol is buried. Not a bad RIS, but not quite there.
