Finally at Københavnske Øldage I was able to sample this, after Dixen by accident smashed the bottle he’d brought home from Varde at a tasting in his kitchen - the first time I hoped to sample it. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with notes both of chocolate and coffee, while the flavor is sweet roasted and mainly with notes of coffee, leading to a dry roasted end. The body is thin. I’d like a bit more complexity and body, but still an OK beer.
