A light golden summer beer, with a citrusy hop character. Serve it slightly cooler than usual for an ale, to enhance its refreshing quality.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma: fruity malt, citrus, very lager-like. Taste: sweetish malt, citrus fruit, slight buttery hint, gentle hop bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation. Brewery playing it very safe with this I think, not bad but I won’t remember this one.

Cask at the Hope and Champion, Beaconsfield. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is light cItrus grassy hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light yeasty hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of malt and hops, with notes of fruit and touches of yeast. Bitter flavour of hops, with notes of yeast and malt and some fruity touches. Estery and slightly buttery aftertaste with bitterish notes. Low to medium carbonation and rather watery. Easy to drink but nothing really exciting.

Bottle at the Danesfield Hotel near Henley at a ridiculous markup- £6 (plus the audacity of a tip) for a bottle you can get for less than £2 in local supermarkets. Would have refused to pay if it hadn’t been someone’s special birthday and I didn’t want to make a fuss. I’d hope that if Rebellion heard they’d do the decent thing and ask the hotel to stop taking the pee. Right, rant over and on to the beer. It pours gold with a thin white head. There’s vanilla up front, a little lemon and a rather buttery mouthfeel, meaning it’s not as refreshing as I’d like a blonde to be. Overall though, it’s ok, but certainly not worth £6.

Lively, clear golden beer with a thin filmy head. Aroma is sweet and floral. Flavour is sweet with a very slight hop edge with a gentle fruit taste. Nothing special but refreshing, easy drinking.

Bottle received as a Christmas present. Golden blonde with a small bubbly head. Hops, some malt and a bit of spice in the aroma. Some spice remains in its taste which has lager malt notes, but is still very much an ale in texture.

Bottle at home from the brewery. Aroma is honeymalt, honeysuckle, mineral, clean english yeast. Crystall clear golden / light orange colour, nice frothywhite head that fades to a thin film. Flavour is stalish malt, chalky carbonation, lowish lemony hop and low english yeast esters. Palate is thin and chalky. Ok Not my flavourite rebellion beer.
