Bottle. Really nice, very dark brown, almost black. Absolutely no head. Aroma was kind of weak. Whiffs of burnt grains and toast. Taste was somewhat better. Tasted of dark roast grains with very light hints of mocha. Weak upfront, roasted grains in the middle, light ashy bitterness in the finish.

Backlog rating. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that lingers, then dissipates. Roasted malt nose with coffee and light chocolate and berry notes as it warms. Roasted malt and coffee on the palate, light fruit character heading towards the finish. Balanced, light and easy drinking.

Grunt fill from Albertsons. Dark brown, almost black, small beige head, streaky lacing. Looks great. Muted aroma, roast grains, coffee. Taste is also a straight forward porter, sharp bitterness. Finishes quick. Good entry level porter.

355ml bottle from Bliznetsy in Moscow. Pours dark brown with as small tan head. Aroma is mild roasted malt, bit of lactose, quite weak. Taste is malt, dark fruit, caramel. Very ordinary beer that tastes like it could have been made by any old brewery.

Very dark with a tan head. Some roasted notes, cocoa, some toasted malt, light earth. Medium body. Finish is bitter from the dark malt and dry. A very solid porter.

Pour in a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is a decent char malt with some treacle. Flavor is again a char malt with some ashy bitterness. Not much of a hardy malt presence but it is more of an old world porter rather than Americanized take on the style. I can remember having this beer like 20 years ago. It’s nice to see the different takes newer brewers have on this style.
