Cask at the John Harvey Tavern, Lewes. Poured a mostly clear golden colour with a mostly lasting bubbly white head. The aroma is yeasty, herbal. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, gluey, earthy, herbal, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Pint at the Pelt Trader. This came on while we were there and I insisted we give it a try. A good pour from the gravity and a burnt yellow in the glass. No real nose, but the taste was just too astringent. I think it was because the bitterness clashed with the previous beers and the taste improved as we got further through the glass, but we agreed that it was the worst of the evening.

Cask at the Pelt Trader, Cannon Street. A bright amber pour with a ring of white head; spicy aroma; dry grainy body with a spicy taste, perhaps nutmeg, and cinnamon; then a soft grainy finish with lingering bitterness. Nicely balanced, and not too spicy.
