Very smooth and easy to drink. Aroma has plenty of toasty malt and the flavour also adds a chocolately finish.

Cask (@ Dog & Gun, Keswick): Clear, amber coloured, creamy off-white head; toffees in the sweetish malty and roasty nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering malty-bitter finish. Just good.....

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 6 Aug) Dark brown colour with brief beige head. Roasted, malty nose with a citrussy, slightly sourish hop character. Malty, slightly roasted taste with coffee, notes of chocolate and slightly citrussy bitterness in the finish. Not really balanced, but still ok.

Cask@Wenlock Arms. Dark amber colour, small white head. Aroma is lots of yeastyness, caramel, old coffee and some chocolate. Flavour is yeast, slightly acidic, some big dark chocolate and slight roasted malts. The chocolate stays in the aftertaste.
