Bottle at Capitol Cider, pours a clear pale yellow with a tiny white head. Nose is very dry, with a light champagne-like effervescence. Flavour is quite dry and sparkling, with very dry apples, with a light spritziness. Well-constructed, with a light crisp finish. Very nice.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear pale yellow with white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has notes of hay and apple with a bit of mustiness. Flavor has a big musty apple note with a bit of sweetness coming through in the finish.

Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear, light straw hued body with a somewhat retentive, fizzy white head. Aromas are of apples, surprisingly, but actually surprisingly, some tropical fruit (terroir it seems works with grapes, hops and apples). Musty, soil, sauvignon blanc, suntan lotion, light sulfur. Flavors are off dry (some medium sweetness), with good acidity, but low tannin. A very low chlorophenol in the background is slightly distracting (bandaid/smoke/burnt plastic...all very light). Some tropical fruit as well in the character. Slightly mineral. Lighter bodied with moderate carbonation. Not half bad for what seems to be a generic NZ cider.
