The very first beer brewed by Ninkasi and Christophe Fargier in September 1997, as of 2020 the Ninkasi Ambrée becomes the Ninkasi Pale Ale!
Ninkasi Ambrée is an American Pale Ale style beer and is one of the breweries perennial favourites. Light and refreshing, with a measured bitterness, this delicate, amber-bodied brew is capped by a thick off-white head, releasing waves of yeasty, brown sugar, malt and fruit notes. On the tongue, you’re treated to more fine fruity malts, with citrus and spice, alongside yeast and caramel that usher in a light, crisp, finely bitter finish.

330ml bottle from Beerwulf. Poured a crystal clear medium amber colour, with a lasting frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a light, crisp, woody, toffee, light floral hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma is grainy, caramelly, yeasty and ripe fruity. Pours cloudy amber brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with light sweet caramel, follows refreshing fruity, grassy and slightly herbal with moderate spicy mouthfeel, toasted malty finish and medium bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Not bad but neither outstanding...

Roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zoet met iets van ananas en abrikoos. Gewoon een goed bier.

From tap at Ninkasi Saint Paul, Lyon. Clear golden amber color with off white head. Malty and light hoppy aroma, caramel, light bread, light grassy. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma but more hoppy. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

On draught at Ninkasi Croix-Rousse. Light brown and very clear. Resinous scent, with a strong floral note. Bittersweet and nicely balanced. Body is a bit thin but the aftertaste is nice and hoppy. My favourite of the Ninkasi beers.

Bottled 330ml. -Unclear orange/amber coloured, small off-white head that went away nowhere for a while, sugary fruity nose. Moderate malty, yeasty and quite fruity with notes of brown sugar and spices. Bitterish hoppy finish. Pleasant beer, really nice surprise.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy pale amber with an off-white head. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Medium body, quite fruity, a little caramel with some phenols and a whiff of perfumy aroma hops. 020210
