Bottle at Chris_o Shindig. Label said Edwin Tucker’s Empress Russian Porter. 2006 vintage. Black, tan head. Intense choc/tar aroma. Very drinkable for a 10.5% beer. Good harsh dryness, oily. Very good tarry choc, espresso coffee.

Bottle from the 2006 vintage picked up at Tuckers Maltings Newton Abbot 14-11-06 this year it is limited to just 2012 bottles apparently. Drank this 30-11-06 . Black with barely any head, aroma of some dried fruits and biiter coffee. Taste was glorious, wonderful bitterness, liquorice, and dried sticky fruits, alcohol was present but this was very nice.

A black beer with a nice brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with some notes of coffee, while the flavor is sweet with some slight acidic notes mixing in with the coffee.

Bottled @RBESG’05 (vintage 2000, named as Edwin Tucker’s Empress Russian Porter)
Opaque black, tanned brown head. Mild coffee nose. Alcoholic a bit, very roasty. Long hoppy and chocolaty aftertaste.

Sampled cask conditioned. Dark black, instransparent with a brownish head. Hints of liquorice in the nose. It starts fruity, but not too sweet, with a hint of plums and liquorice. The body is big, it's not really as enormous as one might think, but still big. The finish is real salty. This is both the strongest cask conditioned beer I've had and my first ever Russian Imperial Porter. It's also an exceptionally tasty and well balanced beer.
