Bottle from Morrisons, Sheldon, Birmingham. Pours a clear amber with small white head Aroma of sweet malt, toffee, raisin, citrus peel but not intense. Taste starts malty, caramel, citrus peel, raisin, then a slightly cloying floral resin note before ending malty again with a grassy and zesty bitterness. Light to medium bodied at first but slighty syrupy and full in mouthfeel in finish. Mixed bag of a bitter.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Dark gold, clear with a tight beige head. Orchard fruit and caramel in the aroma. Taste is bittersweet: sweet from caramel extract flavours followed by a medicinal bitterness. Not pleasant. Light, flat body. I've had some decent Titanic beers recently but this is subpar.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours a golden brown with a small foamy white head and good lacing. Not much of a nose, just some vague sweet malts in the aroma. In the mouth the texture is creamy with a strong flavour of tea leaves / tannins, on a base of sweet malts. Also some hints of chestnuts and digestive biscuits. Finish is pretty awful – slight hint of vomit. This beer is swiggable. In fact it’s probably best if you DO swig it – you won’t notice the taste so much !

Two cask pints in The Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire on 21st Nov 2017. Dark golden body, off-white crown on top. Malts rule the nose and initial taste, caramel/toffee like esters and flavours. The hops come into play towards the finish with a low bitterness that balances the malty sweetness.
