440 ml can, as Abbeydale Absolution Strong Golden Ale, from Bier Huis, Ossett. ABV is 5.3%. Pale golden colour, only slightly hazy. Large white head. Aroma of citrus, pineapple and tropical fruits. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour is slightly sweet, with the same elements as the aroma, also a hint of banana and honeymelon.

Can from Craft & Berry. Appearance - golden yellow with a snow white head. Loads of black splodges of yeast, mind. Nose - mountain herb and citrus lozenge. Taste - loads of herbs and citrus again. Palate - tangy and medium bodied. Tangy finish. Overall - challenging but good.

440ml can from the brewery. Pours slightly hazy gold, nice white head, good lacing. Aroma is an underlying malt with an interesting myriad of different hop notes, fruity, floral, herbs, spice but they don't clash. Taste is semi-sweet, mellow fruits, biscuit malts, a bit of citrus zest, slightly dry. A nice bitterness in the finish balances the sweetness. Moderate body and carbonation. A very good English hoppy pale.

Cask at the Red Lion, Litton, 14/09/20. Clear golden blonde with a well presented lasting white cap. Nose is pale malts, orange peel, cereals, toasted grains, light breads. Taste comprises soft malts, light honey drizzle, melon, toasted grains, light bread dough, residual sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with light balanced bitterness and just a kiss of alcohol. Decent well balanced strong cask pale.

Abbeydale Absolution Cask at Fighting Cocks, Bradford. It pours clear yellow with a medium body foamy whjte head. The aroma is sweet, perfumed, floral, pear drops, apple skin, doughy bread and candied lemon peel. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, spicy, floral, apple, melon, pear drops, bread and cereal with dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet and estery. Not so bad anyhow.

Cask. Rising Sun, Nether Green, Sheffield. A bonus tick while the missus gets her hair cut over the road. Dark straw colour. Light haze. Dense and blotchy, lasting, lacing, white head. Nose has stewed citrus fruit. Some marmalade. Sweet, bready grain. Taste is fairly sweet and grainy, with stewed citrus bitterness. Medium body. Bit of chew here. Low carbonation. Perfect nick this, as were the other cask beers in here. Light bitterness to finish. Punchy golde.
