The first beer we brewed and still many people’s favourite Weetwood Ale. At a time when it was a struggle to find a decent pint of cask ale, this was the answer. Brewed with Maris Otter malt and a range of British hops to produce the rounded flavour and sharp bitterness of a classic British best bitter.

Cask at the copper.. Small white head... Toffee fruit nose.. Light sweet toffee fruit.. Light creamy caramel

Cask at the Plough, Wollaston. Pours orange brown with a small head. Aroma is bready caramel. Taste is bready throughout with a medium bitter finish.

Mid brown colour with thin head. It’s very much a classic English Bitter. Moderately malty, light bitterness. Sessionable.

Cask half-pint, hand pulled in The Bridge End Inn, Ruabon, Wales on 22nd Sep 2015. I have struggled with Weetwood beers in the past, often blaming the yeast they use, which I have felt to be overpowering at times: this beer however was fine and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Good amber body, off-white head. Biscuit malts in the nose, slight hop fruitiness too, the taste more bitter with the hops showing more, the malts retreating somewhat. Nice blend.

Dark amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma of light caramel
Taste of caramel malts, some toasted malts, cereal, twiggy hops
Palate - Light body, fairly bitter. Finish the same.
Overall - Just an ordinary bitter, rather boring and dull. Finish this and move on...

Cask@GBBF2012. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is some toffee, wooden, nutty, floral and some mild reiny notes. Flavour is slightly earthy, fruity, toffeeish, nutty, wooden, spruce and mild crystal malty notes.

Cask, Delamere Forest Golf Club, Cheshire. Brownish looks with a middling off white head. Biscuity malts with some bitterness towards the finish. Decent enough guzzler. The first pint of this barely touched the sides after the exertions and frustration of the previous18 holes... Fore !!

Cask handpull at Battersea BF 09. Amber, thin beige head. It’s a bitter. Decent bitter, bit of butter maybe. But it’s ok.
