Bottle from some shop on Samsø. Black with a small light hrown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and licorice. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and roasted light bitter finish. Oily and soft. Much better than when I last had Samsø beers years ago. 160721

500 ml bottle, BB date 25.10.2012. Bought at Voldby Købmandsgaard. ABV is either 5.8% or 6.8% (faded print on label). Brewed with liquorice. Bottom fermented, should probably be classified as a Baltic Porter. Black colour, ruby in the highlights, low beige head. Moderate aroma, hints of liqorice, dark malts and chocolate. Thin body. Moderately acidic and fruity flavour, the roasted malts are very subdued, only a hint of liquorice and smoke. Might be impaired by age, but this one cannot possibly have been a great beer even as fresh.

bottle from Vinoble-favrskov, 5.8% on the bottle. very dark clear brown, small yellow to light brown head. aroma of roasted mals, salty licorice, flavor is roasted malts, faint tart note, burnt notes, not very bitter, not much hops, but that’s allright. some sourish dark fruity notes, as if it had been mixed with a belgian bruin. Delicate.. not sure if the tart and sour notes are intentional but they add character to the beer.
