500 ml bottle, at last! (my first bottle was stolen in a burglary in Göteborg) - thanks to yngwie and Venner av Nøgne Ø! Bottle conditioned, ABV is 5.9%, 70 IBU! This batch was originally a "brewing / hopping accident" (the batch was intended to be the "normal" Pale Ale) - with 70 IBU I guess this one should qualify as an IPA, or maybe even an Imperial IPA? Hazy golden colour, very cloudy in the end, decent head. Lovely hoppy aroma, with notes of citrus, apricot and pineapple, also notes of flowers. Moderate carbonation in the glass, initially a soft mouthfeel with a moderate sweetness, before the intense hoppy bitterness takes over and dominates the flavour throughout. Very bitter aftertaste. An interesting experience, but to be honest: this is too bitter for me! I prefer the "normal" pale ale.

Bottle. Sweet, teaish, fruity aroma. Cloudy pale orange colour. Small white head. Quite bitter, but nicely so. The late bitterness gets quite powerful, but not bad. Aroma hops are overpowered by the bitterness.

A hazy orange beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet and lovely hoppy with notes of both grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with strong grass notes, but also notes of hops and caramel. Very American in its expression.

I was surprised at this beer. I thought with the cranked up IBUs it would be more bitter, but extra malt must have been added compared to the Pale Ale as it was less bitter and had a fuller body. Overall, I still think the pale ale has better character.

Pale orange-ochre beer with slight haze; yellow-orange tinted small head. End of bottle fully opaque and UFO-ridden. Hops (noble -) - and ivy. Several mild green herbs (laurel, savory, etc.) Bit of sulphur too. Sulphury & grapey hops, quite dry. Just a hint at sweetness, hay and white bread. Finishes again with full hopflavour and resin. Rather light body, slight slickness, not empty nor watery. Nice hoppy pale ale; nothing spectacular, but easy drinkable, pleasing. Big thanks, Martin E.

Golden color. Some hop aroma, very light. Medium body structure, some malt, more hops than in a traditional Ale, but overall below expectations. The hop and bitterness increase at the end, when also the malt fills the mouth, and this is quite pleasant, the best of this beer.
Similar to a quite good English India Pale Ale, don’t expect anything too aromatic or extremely hopped.
I can’t feel all the 70 IBU…

Bottle. Amber colour with longlasting off-white head. Flowery hoppy aroma. Fruity hoppy flavor with some hints of pine needles. Long hoppy bitter aftertaste.

500 ml bottle. Quite pale in colour and surprisingly strong aroma, plenty of citrus and hops. The flavour is also dominated by citrus and fruity with some grass. I find this beer a bit strange but pleasant. It might feels a bit unbalanced at the first sip to have all this hoppyness inside a relatively light beer. After a few more sips it feels more natural and I think this is really nice pale ale in the crossover area to IPA.

Bottled. Lightly hazy, orange beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of pear, hops and spices. Well-hopped flavor with a light fruitiness. Light fizzy in the mouth and you can feel the hops wearing on the enamel of your teeth. Definately not a session beer, more an "imperial" pale ale, at least in terms of hoppiness. (060315)
