Lundgren's Lager is a golden-hued beer with full body and a beautiful aromatic taste of hops. A more bitter beer is probably not commercially brewed in Sweden but the refreshing character with touch of honey and citrus makes the beer extremely smooth, in spite a bitterness of 40 BU.

HUMLE: Cascade, Cluster, Saaz

Second and last ratingupdated 5/9/2006Draught at The Rover in Gothenburg, Sweden. First time I tried it from the tap, though I’ve tried the bottled versions several times.I find it quite similar to the bottle, but a bit smoother.Clear golden color. Big white creamy head, lasting. A bit sour vinous scent. Malty taste, a bit too heavy taste for a lager for me personally. Big bitterness. Bitter and sour aftertaste.4/3/5/3/10=2.5First ratingRating added 3/8/2006Bottle some time in 2005.It’s nice that they’ve saved the name and the label since the brewery was "Kungsholmens KVartersbryggeri". I don’t know if I think it’s quite as bitter as it’s rumor though. It’s a good lager beer though, perhaps a bit too malty for me.Ar 6, Ap 3, Fl 6, Pa 3, Ov 12 = 3.0

Bottle. Quite aromatic hoppiness. Pale golden colour, looks a bit flat. A little citric start, then turns to a flavour that is too much like other lagers. OK malty, a little dusty.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pretty, golden beer with a fine, dense head. The brewery calls it a pilsener in a Czech/German style. No less than five different hops are used - one of them American, and with four different malts this is a rather complex lager. In spite of it’s bitterness it appears soft with notes of honey and citrus. An excellent and very aromatic lager. 140700

Very effervescent carbonation to good, dense, faint yellow head; clear golden beer. Initially very grainy nose, taken over by dry, dusty hops, even a bit cheesy. Hopcharacter dominating. Excellent hoppy pils, just getting sweetish for a second, to end bitter-hoppy, a bit cheesy and a bit British (no, that’s not really the same). Well bodied for a pils. Not fizzy despite the high carbonation. Superb pils, truly excellent in its class. Nils Oscar is one hell of a brewery to me.

Bottled (BB 09/2004)
Golden lager color, a bit hazy, small white head. Light fruity and hoppy aroma. Sweet, medium-bodied with fruity hops (Cascade?). Short aftertaste. Quite plain.

Draught at the Ardberg room, Stockholm
Fresh grassy nose, som dusty edges. Nice light amber with low carbonation and and a well drafted creamy head. A good scoop of hops in the flavor on a medium to light malt body. Grassy dry finish. Mouthfeel is a tad thinish, but a well crafted lager nonetheless.

Pours nicely with a typical large white head over a yellow beer that just misses being crystal clear. Well balanced aroma of malt and hops. Bitter on the tongue which is slightly detracting in it’s sharpness at first taste, but becomes acceptable after a few swallows. I could drink another. Thanks to OMHPER for sending this for me too try!

The aroma is malty with a good sweetness and strong notes of brewmash and fresh hops. The color is orange and it has a dense head, but very fast disappearing. The flavor is fresh and brewmashy with notes of grass and sweet malt. A very nice lager

Blond beer. Strange aroma, herbs, straw, bread. Same line for the flavor, interesting mix of malt, unmalted grains, straw, hop. Final quite bitter and long.
