Draft. A slightly hazy red-brown beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of grapefruit and hops, as well as a light touch of caramel. The flavor is sweet mlaty with primary notes of caramel and grapefruit, while the alcohol is felt in the mouth.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Clear, copper body and beige head. Quite nice aroma, sweet, dried fruits and some spicy notes. The flavor is sweet and lighlty spiced. Full body and a long, sweet finish. A bit neutral in the nose and mouth, not the typical barley wine in my opinion, it’s too sugary sweet for that. (070512)

Draught at KØ07. Clear, beautiful red/brown colour. The flavour has some bonbon/caramel and some pepper. OK, but not as flavourful as expected.

Draught @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Cloudy amber color with a small frothy fair lacing mostly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is toffee / caramel, light hoppy. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration. A hoppy dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Cloudy amber, minimal head. Syrupy resiny nose. Sweet and raw. Mellow and sticky in the mouth, hardly even medium bodied. The body craves in, and there is actually not much in the way of hops either. Some alcohol burns briefly burns the finish. Back to the drawing table.

(On tap) Pours a clear, reddish amber with an off-white head. Fat, caramelish aroma. Quite a full body with sweetish caramel notes - somewhat burned caramel. Hoppy finish. Decent but not exactly a great Barley Wine. 110507
