Bottled (BB 08/2006)
Hazy ruby red, off-white head, some lace. Malty, rubbery aroma. Malty with sharp spicey finish: cloves, cinnamon, hops. Dunkel? No very.

Bottle Dark amber colour with an off-white head. Sweet and round malty aroma with plenty of hops. Wood-like. Flavour has a nice, wellbalanced hoppy bitterness. Taste of licorice

On tap at Fynske Øldage, Odense, Denmark. Coppercoloured with a brown head. Hazy. Sweet malty aroma. Belgo-sweet with spices in flavor. Bitter finish. Rating: 5-4-6-3-13-3.1. (051029)

Bottle. (2006 vintage, maybe 2005) It pours a clear, copper body under a minimal beige head. Bready malts, caramel, a wee touch of coffee, a note of dried fruits and a starting oxidation in the aroma. Quite pleasant. Fruity flavor up front, soon assisted by bready and caramelly malts, a tiny touch of oxidation and dried fruits. Quite sweet, but not too sweet. It gives a little impression of spicyness towards the finish. Strange, but after a while, some alcohol warmth spreads on the palate. Quite effervescent. Sweet, caramel finish with a fine touch of bitterness. It bears the age quite well, and I’m no longer angry with myself for letting this one be forgotten in my cellar. (090126)

(Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 2001 at 6,2% ABV. Very pretty, deep amber - close to mahogany actually. Fine but collapsing head. Very carbonated - too carbonated. Lovely malty body, dry with a hint of acidity. A bit more body and sweetness would be greatly appreciated. 311201 (Bottle 50 cl) Vintage 2003 at 5,8% ABV. 6/3/6/3/12=3 250604

This is not a christmas beer, it´s too hoppy, and not sweet, bus it is still a very good beer...... The Hopp is so powerfull, that it could scare beginners. The flavour is bitter and sour, but in a good way. The finish is powerfull and acetic. It is very carbonated and a beer with caracter, (maybee you won´t like it)

(500 ml bottle). Reddish brown colour, hazy (unfiltered). Very good thick head. Moderate malty aroma, notes of caramel. Flavour is malty and slightly spicy, not too sweet. Well balanced with a nice hoppy bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit watery though. Overall: Not bad this one.

Good beige, fine bubbled head; dark brown beer with reddish shine. Warm nose, full of rich malts as chocolate, and dark German bread. Again a bready taste - German dark, a little acidity included. But all lined by a selfsure bitterness, part roasted malts, part a good deal of hops. I get a flavour reminding of 'Haagse hopsjes', Dutch coffee-flavoured toffees - after some time a sweetness peeks in. Very nice balance. Full bodied, warming. Some chalk-dryness. Most impressive is its balance. No tricks with a interminable lot of spices, just a decent, warming brew. Difficult even to believe it's not even 6%!

Very dark with good head. Malty with a hint of licorice, but it’s way to watery for my taste.

Amber color; creamy head. Sweet caramel aroma, and fudge. Strong, sweet, caramel character. Quite strong bitterness at the end. Fairly good Julöl, but not really complex…

A red beer with a fine and lasting head. The aroma is slightly fruity and sweet. The flavor is round, soft, malty and with a clear taste of the mash - you can almost taste the grainstraws. A really good beer - but very much like their Mørk Guld.
