50 cl. bottle. Dark brown colour with a bubbly off-white head. Sweet aroma with dark dried fruits, herbal hops, caramel malts and nuts. Taste is light sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts, indefinite spices and herbal hop notes. Okay beer, an alternative (maybe unconsciously?) approach to Christmas beers.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Beautiful deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head with good retention. Nice aroma of caramel, also mild spicy notes. The flavour is spicy and complex with notes of caramel and dark dried fruits, esp. raisins. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish, slightly sharp in the aftertaste. Overall very good - I am astonished that it is not rated higher.

Medium beige head. Clear deep brown body with light carbonation. Light burnt rubbery aroma with caramelly woolen notes. Dry-sweet burnt caramel taste with wooden herbal notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft, delicate mouthfeel. Dry roasty burnt caramel aftertaste with sugary mineraly wooden notes. Interesting and different, but the burnt malt taste is not 100% successful, sadly. Still a nice and enjoyable beer. (0.5l bottle, gift from family.)

As "Læsø Stone Ale Extra" 50 cl bottle purchased in Denmark last summer. BB 31 01 10, sampled on May 13, 2010Clear dark copper to brown color, tan head that was big at first, then sinks down to a reasonable level. Sweet a bit fruity scent with almond paste mixed in it, though the more dominating part is high alcohol level and solvents. Some cherry and cherry pips scent as well. Dry, metallic, grainy, alcohol, some fruity esters, mostly thin with solvents taste. Dry grainy aftertaste, also vinous. Dry medium bitterness, a bit harsh with tannins. Rather smooth nice mouthfeel.

dark fruits, almost but not quite boozy, malts, caramel, faint spices, nuts. could be mistaken for a belgian strong ale. clear amber, large thick light brown head. flavor is boozy, dark fruits, faint burnt caramel, faint toffee, burnt flavor (lava stones perhaps), licorice. i think flavor is a bit too burned toffee and caramelly sweet for my taste.
