Cockney Imperial Stout was born at the request of Mike Wilson, publican and proprietor of Cockney Pub in Århus. Mike talked Niels Jørn into brewing a whole batch of a rich, dark, very strong stout exclusively for his pub. The stout went like wildfire, and 800 litres were sold from a single tap in the small pub in just 5 weeks! Rumors of this amazing stout spread to the rest of the country, convincing Niels that this smooth, black beer should be a constant in the WinterCoat selection. It, like many of WinterCoat's strong beers, goes down deceivingly smoothly.

Draught. Smoky aroma, flavour and aftertaste. Flavour is much like bitter chocolate. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel.

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen. Very black. Really roasty and smokey, almost rubbery. Full bodied. Salty and rich on licorice, very bitter finish. Flavourful and tasty, but not as balanced as some Wintercoat beers. Bigger is not always better.

Black color; creamy head. It has a nice aroma, where some delicate roasted malt meets a light fruitness. The mouthfeel and body are very good, far from being too sticky; there is a good roasted malt flavor, some sweetness and caramel, at times a light fruitness, and a very light smoke touch. Balanced final, and behind the chocolate and roasted malt is possible to detect a good hop. Very good, extremely drinkable.

Black color. Very nice coffeish aroma, with a light smokyness and tar. Wonderful taste, full, with roasted malt, coffee, malt, caramel, light liquorice, very light phenol and a strong ending bitterness. Excellent!

A pitch black beer with a beutiful brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted chocolate, nuts, and oranges. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and nuts in the foreground with the alcohol lingering in the back. A great beer.
