Aroma is somewhat malty with bread and nuts. Flavour feels a bit stale with bready malt, some grain, hops, toffee and nuts. Also some spices. Not the most typical EPA.

Bottle. (old notes from 2007) Dark, slightly hazy amber. Quite hoppy aroma with notes of smoke and caramel. Dry, clean, light taste with a little metallic and earthy bitterness. Descent.

A beautiful golden amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. Nice caramel malt in aroma with light cinnamon notes. In mouth, a good bready caramel malt with creamy mouthfeel, a bit of cinnamon hearts, more like a vienna, medium bodied. Bieropholie import, BB Jan 09, tasted Jan. 4 2010.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Amber color. Malty bready flowery aroma with speculaas. Malty sweetish spicy flavor with nutmeg and speculaas. Flowery bitter finish. Tasty beer for such a modest ABV.

330ml Bottle - Copper coloured. Moderately hoppy aroma with grapefruit, peach and some spicy malt notes. Hoppy and fruity taste with grapefruit, caramel and spicy malt.

(Bottle, expired on Jan 09) Amber and clear. Fruity, grassy, Belgian-like and sweet aroma with some malty notes. Full bodied and dry palate with medium carbonation. Malts, sweetness, bread, fruitiness, caramell, bitterness and a taste I would describe as Belgian. Malty and lightly bitter aftertaste.

Bottle: Poured a copper color ale with an average size foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of perfect fruity ester somehow clashes with dry bitter English style hops. Taste is a unbalanced mix between some fruity ester with strong dry bitter English hops with a medium caramel malt. Average body with good carbonation. This is really a good example where less hops would have been profitable.

330 ml bottle. Golden body with a small white head. Aroma is nice and gentle malty with a hint of caramel and hops. Nice, balanced flavor. This is both really refreshing and tasty, I thing the strength of Nils Oscar is the lagers. Difficult to explain exactly what it is, it’s just a fine, refreshing, lager with a balanced flavor and bitterness.

(Draught at Glenfiddich Warehose No 68, Stockholm, 17 Nov 2007) Dark amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with dried fruit, apricots, grain, caramel and fresh hops. Grainy, slightly fruity taste with dried fruit, apricots and slightly cirtussy hops in the finish. Not very daring but nice and balanced pale ale.
