Sample at the brewpub. Black pour with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of smoked malt, chocolate and mild peppers. Medium body with a roasty and smokey pepper and malt character, with some chocolate and spice in the background. The finish is smoked chipotle and malt. Above average overall.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was cinnamon, dust, faint hot pepper and grape jelly. The flavor was cinnamon, cocoa, grape jelly and hot pepper. Logn finish. Medium body and smooth. Ok.
