1/3 pint on a sample tray, cask at the Old Cannon brewpub. Bright dark brown body, dotted spots on the glass from a dissipating off-white head. Moderate smell of herbal hops and mid-sweet malts. Blended taste of buttery caramel and ripe fruits. Bittersweet tail. clean on the swallow. Pretty alright. (Bury St Edmunds 12.11.2021).

Cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Reddish brown, slightly hazy. Sour smell of rye whisky, a bit bready. Sweet malty taste with enough of a hop flavour to give in depth. More bitterness in the finish. A basic beer but quite good.

Bottle from the Suffolk Food Hall. Pours a slightly hazy copper colour with an off white head. Sweet malts aroma, with citrus fruits and dough. Soft carbonation, slightly oily texture, very drinkable.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear dark amber beer. Residual off white head. Smooth palate. Sweetish malt with a whisper of esters. Candy fruits in the undertone. Lacto. Smooth dry finish. A little too much with the malt sweetness but not bad.

Cask at Southampton Arms, London NW5 on 1st March 2010. Copper with mostly diminishing off white head. Sweet malts and a deliciously smoked undertone that lasts to the end, with some grapefruit citric notes alongside. A softly textured mouthfeel, giving a beer that is very easy to drink for its 5.5abv.
