Cask-conditioned at the Royal, Portishead September 2023. Golden in colour, with a moderately-sized, white, head. Leafy hops, a touch of apricot and tangerine fruit, yeasty edge, light malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at The Redgarth. It pours clear copper with a small white head. The aroma is bit floral, fragrant, citrus peel, tangy, biscuit and peach. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, oily, slick, caramel, biscuit, bit of spice, tangy citrus and marmalade with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty ok for a GK. Condition at Redgarth helps it.

Half pint, cask at Compleat Angler. Bubbly white head, next to clear amber body. Fair lacing. Restrained aroma of herbal hops. Ripe fruity hops to the taste profile added by pale malts, semi-sour. Dry endnotes. Not in its best condition at the pub and no good with the fish and chips (Norwich 10.07.2017).

Cask at the Royal Standard, Ely. Dark gold/copper. Extremely thin white head and lacing. Clear. Flowery/fruity aroma, not very enticing. There is a slight metallic scent as well. Taste improves a bit, sweet with caramel and orange notes. Very basic and not the best beer in the world, but it’ll do.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Pale chestnut with a tight cream head; citrus aroma; creamy in the mouth with some light citrus and stale malts; and a dry biscuity finish with not a hop in sight. Under whelming.

Gravity dispense at the Quins Head, Twickenham Stoop, 04/05/13 during half time of Quins v Northampton. 22-19 Quins FT. Clear golden amber with a thin white head. Nose carries the unmistakable waft of good ole GK yeast, darker malts, toffee, orchard fruits. Taste comprises toffee apple, malt, GK yeast, light hops in the background, straw, hints of citrus. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but boring as one comes to expect with GK seasonals!
