MOSAIC IPA
A balanced Western North Carolina IPA with bright citrus and tropical fruit aromas. Expect big grapefruit, tangerine and subtle melon flavors from the chorus of Mosaic & Centennial hops to balance out the malt in this dank & drinkable ale.

Keg at BD Reading. It pours clear orange - amber with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, resinous, sappy, pine, citrus peel and earth. The taste is firmly dry, good level of bitterness, pithy, plenty of citrus dominates, pithy, zesty, grapefruit, pomelo, orange peel, kick of alcohol, resinous and some piss with a lingering bitter citrus finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent west coast IPA, but perhaps wouldn't stand out in a crowd.

Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, floral hops and caramel malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Dark golden orange. Graham cracker and bread dough with pepper and some spice. Older hops, a bit of brown sugar. Decent mouthfeel. Very light malt presence and ultra light hops. Pretty much a pine cone and pine needle taste throughout. Low IBU.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Bruisin' Ales, 1/12/15

Aroma: The nose is lightly resiny, with some floral hops, sweet caramel, and a toasty malts
Appearance: A mostly clear orange color with a thick, frothy off-white/beige head and sticky lace
Flavor: The flavor is fairly malty/sweet, decent bitterness as well, but definitely sweet for the style
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty sticky mouthfeel, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright, rather sweet IPA. Congrats to The Ohio State University, winning so convincingly as the 4th team in with a 3rd string QB in the 2nd round of the 1st college football playoff. Wow. As for the beer... This is decent, but I can't really give it a higher compliment than that.

Bottle brought from NC. Poured a clear golden amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma was light pine, with some malt and a touch of earthy notes. Flavor was pretty balanced, maybe a little too malt forward on this bottle. To be fair, I’m not sure how fresh the bottle is, it’s already in the recycling. The more crisp hop notes may have become a bit too subdued.
