He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head.

In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.

Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a can near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.

What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: Jelly King combines bright and juicy hop aromatics with a refreshingly tart base, and is bursting with notes of fuzzy peach, tangerine, and grapefruit.

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy orange pour, with a medium white head. Right off the bat you get hit with some i toxicating orange zest funkinesss. Some great peach, and nectarine come thriugh after accompanied by some soft white wine grapes, the sourness is subtle, and soft, and alloys the fruit aromas and flavours to come to the forefront, and linger on your palate. The peach takes over at the end with a solid acidity your expect from a very dry, bright, fresh, reisling. A complex and beautiful beer. Another world class effort from arguably Canada’s best brewery.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Tart kiwi and kumquat aromas. Tart with tart apricot and peach upfront turning to earthy tangerine in the dry, medium length finish.

440ml can from Good Spirits Co., Glasgow. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, caramel, fruit, citrus, hops. Taste is sour, fruity, citrusy, lemon rind, with hop, malt, caramel and some tangy bitterness. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry sour citric bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Third of a pint alongside two other Canadian beers in the Boot on Sunday 25th August 2024. Hazed golden pour, white wisp on top. It's a sour puss alright with a lemon like front, other citrussy fruits join in, but only if they are sour. Interesting, but not really my thing.

Keg @ The Boot, Wellington after a ride up the Wrekin with TMBB. Misty deep gold appearance, no head. Crisp, citrussy with a cutting, zesty sour edge.. good stuff

On tap at Stillwell. Pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is lemony citrus, fresh grass, dank hops, and some subtler tropical fruit. Flavour has a lot of bright fruit: mainly lemon with grapefruit, apricot, others. Just enough dryness to keep the juiciness in check. Really well constructed beer.

On tap @As-Is. Stemware. Hazy, medium piss yellow pour. Sour dark stone fruit nose, a little grease. Frothy, thin, sour pie filling. Crusty malt, salt, itchy char on the tail. Meh.
