He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head.
In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme.
Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a can near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification.
What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: Jelly King combines bright and juicy hop aromatics with a refreshingly tart base, and is bursting with notes of fuzzy peach, tangerine, and grapefruit.

Tasting at Brian’s. 500ml bottle (thx, Peter!). Pours a hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Taste is pretty the same with some ascorbic notes, medium to high level of sourness. Good, refreshing, but too much of ascorbic for me.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with resinous floral hops, catty notes, light Brett, very nice and complex. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light lemon notes, light Brett, ground cherries, catty hops, very nice and complex. On tap at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2016.

Bottle: Poured a super bright hazy yellow color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart and sour notes with some citrusy notes is quite enticing. Taste is a nice mix of pretty powerful sour notes offset by tangerine and citrusy hoppy notes with no bitterness noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Very interesting mix of flavours but I would have liked it even more if the sour notes were even more balanced against the hoppy citrus notes.

2017-06-13, bottle from BC Liquors Roundhouse, 8-4-7-4-16=39
Cloudy blond color, small head. Nice lychee aroma, a bit metallic. Citrusy flavor, moderate acidity; calamansi and other tropical fruit in the blend, with mild astringency in the final.
Excellent.
2016-06-29, tasting at Matt’s, 8-4-7-4-16=39
Cloudy blond color. Pungent fruity aroma, plenty of lychee.
Dry mouthfeel, pleasant sourness, juicy, lemony, and a touch of tropical.
Excellent.

500mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is lovely, full of dank citra dry hopping, tropical fruits, and melons. Flavour brings out loads of lacto upfront, with tons of tropical fruits (especially melon), and a lovely dry hoppy quality. Cohesive, complex and hugely refreshing. Excellent.
