Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was roasty and bitter with a vague smoky presence, jammy berries and a boozy undertone. The flavor was roasty and bitter with floral hops, vague berries and a hint of smoke. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Alcohol well hidden. Nice.
