Fruit Belgian Black, based on a dark beer with esters reminiscent of dried fruits and a clean profile, is generously soaked with the peel of Shiranui (Dekopon).
With a citrus flavor and the refreshing secret flavor of coriander, the taste is just like orangette candy, a candy wrapped in candied citrus peel and chocolate!
Enjoy the meeting of traditional Belgian style with Japanese citrus Shiranui.

Re-rate: Tap at Craft Heads Y. Market tap-takeover. More dekopon on the nose this time. Cocoa powder dryness is still there. Tang element is gone and seems more like a dried orange zest character. Good Belgian yeasty dryness with bitterness on the finish. Not sweet on the palate at all. Very nice and original fruited Belgian dark ale. Tap at Watering Hole. Pours a hazy dark brown with a tiny head. Lots of cocoa powder in the nose with some light coffee notes. The Dekopon really comes out on the palate as a tangerine-like sweet citrus...actually itβs more like the powdered drink TANG and comes off a little artificial. Some Belgian yeast flavor towards the finish. Very interesting take on a fruit/ Belgian IPA hybrid. --- Beer merged from original tick of Decorian (γγ³γͺγ’γ³) on 19 Feb 2016 at 21:16 - Score: 7. Original review text: Belgian style with lots of chocolate on the nose. Lots of dekopon flavor too. A tad too sweet though....great carbonation.
