Can from Asda, BBE in 5 months. Pours black with small fizzy white head which dissipates to leave some lacing. Chocolate, coffee, roasted aroma. Moderate carbonation and quite smooth. Taste is rich like aroma but with a milky note and a bitter finish. My first Milk Stout and it was good, a little on the rich side for me but maybe that's the fact I'm not a coffee drinker, and there were some noticeable coffee notes.

Can from local ASDA Loads of foam when I opened this one ! Pours a deep mahogany brown with very vigorous beige head which very quickly disappears completely. Has a not altogether attractive aroma of burnt rice pudding. Very bitter on first taste, but that also quickly dissipates to give dandelion and burdock flavours. Hops and chocolate finally turn up in the bitter finish. Unremarkable.

Can at home from welfare ASDA. Aoily dark brown coloured pour with a fizzy fading tan head. Aroma is earthy brown malts, liquorice, lactose dry roast, light ash. Flavour is composed of milky sweet, fizzy liquorice, some salt. Palate is semi sweet, oily, fizzy carbonation. Not a fan.

This is really rather decent. An interesting halfway house between a smooth and creamy stout and something a little livelier, with a good malty chocolate to it. Very quaffable.

330ml can: BB 4th Jun 19. Drank at home on 10th May 19, poured into a thistle shaped glass because I like my dark beers in this style of glass. Looked good, very dark/black bodied, deep tanned crown. Malty. semi-sweet and milky in nature. Very pleasant all round and good value too!
