Our love of lager brewing and our love of hops inspired us to brew this India Pale Lager with our friends at Thornbridge. A light, refreshing malt base is the perfect platform for big bursts of American & German hops. We blended four hop varieties to impart notes of passionfruit, gooseberry, grapefruit and lemongrass. The finish offers clean lager character, fermented using our house lager strain.

Thin white head left a spotty cover on an unclear pale gold body. Minimal tangerine aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with sharper clean back. Hoppy tastes with tangerine, peach, confectionery & pith. Poor.

Can picked up on the cheap from Tesco Inverurie. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet, perfumed, stone fruits, melon, greengage, pine dust and doughy bread. The taste is dry, soft, bitter - sweet, oily, juicy melon upfront, greengage, gooseberry fool, papaya and touch of alcohol with a soft melon finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. I could actually believe there was melon in this. Decent melon vibes.

Can from Tesco, Brooklands. Pine aroma with resin and an unattractive mouldy bathroom whiff. Hazy light gold. Bubbly white head soon thins. Light bitter with a citrus edge. Initially quite crisp but this fades going into the finish. Mesium bodied. Slick with a chalky residue. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Has perhaps faded due to having been sat on a supermarket shelf but despite showing some glimpses this is somewhat underwhelming.

Keg tap at the brewery. Light yellow and clear with minimal head. Heady floral hoppy aroma with some gluey resinous scent. Bittersweet in the mouth, with the strong hop flavour lingering in the long finish. Floral and piney flavours in the aftertaste. Maybe an IPL by numbers, but a very good one.

330ml can. Poured a hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is grassy citrus fruit hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a fresh, crisp, fruity, light floral, light woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
