Beer #5 of my 10,00th Beer Milestone Celebration! 2016 Vintage Mostly clear copper coloured body with a light orange glow and a nice three centimetre tall off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves not a sign of there ever being a head here - but the tint of the body is very nice indeed. Aroma of strong caramelised ginger, a dash of oranges, some spontaneously fermented yeast, a dash of oak and funky foeder notes, but the ginger really defines this one - very strong and reminiscent, at least in the nose, to a moscow mule. Light to Medium-bodied; Tart and funky orange, citrus and oaky, dry, foeder notes dominate, but the ginger is right behind with a crisp, inviting and very spicey component to the tart and citrusey beer, but the dryness and tart qualities really stand out at the finish, all from the yeast, oak and yeasts here. Aftertaste shows a pretty good balance of spices (ginger and some coriander seed) along with a fresh orange and bitter grapefruity quality, all while bringing out some light sugars, a big hit of yeast and a lot of dryness and tart qualities - very nice and complex throughout, while being quite easy-drinking. Overall, a very nice beer that is tart, funky, grassy, citrusey, floral, oaky, cedary, herbal, yeastie and still somehow quite drinkable - the citrus is nice as are the ginger qualities - great throughout, and I'm happy I added this to my 10k beer celebration, it was that good! I sampled this 37,5 cL bottle as Beer #5 [of 21 - 10 (for 10,000) of Each side of the 10,000 Beer Milestone and the 10,000th itself!] of my 10,000th Beer Milestone, purchased from Glen Ro Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 05-September-2022 for US$12,99/for two (buy one, get one free deal), bottled in 2016 in American Oak, sampled at my house here in Washington on 01-May-2023.

Pours a somewhat hazy amber from a bottle, white head quickly dissipates. Aroma is a citrusy ginger, like an orangina mixed with a real ginger ale. Oaky wine flavor in addition to a light blood orange and ginger. Okay beer.

This beer is a cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, oak, spice and malt. Medium body with flavors of spiced orange, yeast, oak and malt. The finish is vinous oak, ginger and orange. Pretty good overall.
