473ml can from Beergium. Gusher alert! Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma of spices, roasty malts, hints of cocoa, chocolate and earthy notes. Taste is smooth, slightly spicy and roasty with some cocoa, chocolate and earthiness. Finish is smooth, earthy and slightly roasty with hints of spices and cocoa. Decent, a bit unbalanced.

Can at Hair of the Dog, Phrom Phong, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy short-lived off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqourice, dry ash tray. The flavour is moderate to light liqourice with a light dry roasty watery light creamy liquorice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Rather bland. Didn’t get any of the promised chilli spice whatsoever. Nice can :-)

473mL can, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out dry cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt and a touch of dry cocoa. Soft palate, with not much flavour complexity. Meh.

This has a dark brown colour and a thin head. Aroma shows a thin bit of cocoa malt, but not a whole lot else. This is light-bodied, surprised because of the potatoes. The porter base is thin, light, and with just a bit of cocoa. The peppers mostly come across with heat in the end, though without the deep fruity aji panca flavour. The sweetness is funny because it’s kind of a thin beer.
