A sweet and rich porter that is lightly smoked using Beech smoked malt. The dark and crystal malts add sweetness and roast notes, which blend perfectly with the subtle cured meat smokiness to create Pig Candy in a glass!

Pours black with small beige head. some minor retention. Very malty in aroma with a meaty smoke and chocolate. Its a little lighter than expected with a zingy carbonation. Plenty of dark malt and smoke but not that meaty in the taste, slight berry hint. Slight dusty dry finish. Its nice but a touch below Pentrich's usual standard.

Growler fill from the Low Cost Beer online shop. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of cocoa and smoke, light cherry. Taste is light smoke, maple and berries. Smoky finish.

Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal off-white head. The aroma is smoky with malts. The smokiness continues in the mouth, where it is dominant. Despite this there is an overall sweetness with mlats, dark fruits and bacon. Texture is somewhat chewy. Alcohol strength comes through in the fruity finish. This is quite nice.
