On draught at Ale House #1. I really didn’t think this one would come around again considering I first heard of it 5 years ago and never saw it in rotation since. Needless to say it was a pleasant surprise to find it over the weekend. The beer is a flat black color with a medium ivory colored head that retains pretty well. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt and roasted coffee beans. Rich, smooth body with a nice roasted character. Flavors of malt, coffee and sweet chocolate, along with a touch of hops. The finish is smooth and milky with a sweet malt and chocolate flavor. Leaves a bit of bitter coffee on the tongue in the end. Solid all around.
