The decadence in this beer is derived from our imperial stout base of Wildebeest. It's been accentuated by a hint of acidity and fruit character picked from its barrel ageing in Pinot Noir barrels for upwards to 2 years!

From tap at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Strong vinous barrel aroma with dark chocolate, roast, fudge, grapes, and red wine. Rich sweet flavour with vinous notes and a little bitterness in the finish. Body is full. Smooth and complex, red wine meets chocolate.

Batch 1, bottled 2015 with a BBD of 12/2017. Think it was from Hop Hideout. Anyway. Unreal condition. Clear deep chestnut brown with a slim lasting super dense beige foam. Big vinous vibe. Still some coffee. Hint of vanilla. Taste is vinous with some sweetness and some earthy woody bitterness. Slick but easy drinking. Vinous earthy woody bitter finish. Ace.

-1 pt for the ridiculous, irritating wax. Pours viscously to pink-shot dark cream head over red-shot dark brown beer. Chocolate a mile out, then dark red berries, red winegrapes and roast. Sour-roast-meaty-red wine. Chocolate, as in pralines with red berry ganache. Alcohol obvious. Rich, voluptuous, good carbonation, chewy and full-bodied, alcoholheat. Surprising, rewarding beer on the very edge of fruitsour and stout - yet fully balanced. Impressive.

Taste comprises funk, red wine barrel, damp oak, vinous, red berry must. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Tidy BA impy sour blend.

Bottle shared. Black. Indeed a ton of red wine, coffee, roasted malts, blackberries, leather, marzipan, dark chocolate. Medium sweet, lighter sour and bitter. Thick full body, medium dry. Great.
